Camp staff members include local high school coaches, active college coaches/players, and coaches with previous professional playing experience. The camp staff provides instruction in proper baseball mechanics through effective station drills designed to build skill development. Campers are taught various skills to help them become better baseball players. Proper fundamentals and techniques of hitting, throwing, running, fielding, sliding, bunting, and more are taught by qualified instructors with professional/college/high school coaching experience.
Darren Gurney | Camp Director
Rising Star Baseball Camp Director Darren Gurney has been running the camp since its inception in July of 1999. Since receiving his first coaching position in February of 1992, Coach Gurney has coached over twenty players that were selected in the MLB Draft or who have gone on to play professional baseball. Former Camper Tom Koehler Promoted To Double A By Florida Marlins

Tom Koehler who attended the Rising Star Baseball Camp during summers 1999-2000 and worked as a coach during summers 2005-2006 was recently promoted to Double A Ball by the Florida Marlins to their AA affiliate team, the Jacksonville Suns.  Congratulations Tommy and Good Luck!
