 During the summer of 2009, Matt Duran began coaching at the Rising Star Baseball Camp on the Rookie Field.  In June of 2011, Coach Duran was drafted by the NY Yankees in the 4th Round of the MLB Draft after starring for New Rochelle HS during 2008-2011.  Currently, Matt plays in the New York Yankees' minor league system where he had a banner rookie season in the Florida Gulf Coast League by hitting over .300 and amassing an impressive slugging percentage.  In 2013-2014, Coach Duran began coaching with the camp staff on a full-time basis while rehabbing a season-ending arm injury. In the baseball off-season, Matt matriculates at Ivy League College - Columbia University where he will earn a degree in mathematics. Matt's tremendous work ethic and commitment to academics make him a model student-athlete for all young players to emulate.
