Coach Joe Carlucci joined the Rising Star Baseball Camp staff in 2012 as a field director and instructor on the Triple A Diamond.

Coaching Experience:
Joe Carlucci brings an extensive coaching background to the camp program with a baseball pedigree which includes, MLB, NCAA, high school, and youth coaching experience.  After college, Carlucci worked on the New York Yankees' coaching staff for spring training under Manager Buck Showalter.  His fellow coaches with the Yankees, included Rick Down, Frank Howard, Brian Butterfield, Tony Cloninger, and guest spring training coaches - Ron Guidry, Whitey Ford, and Reggie Jackson. This professional coaching experience which encompassed close ties to many players, such as catcher Mike Stanley, inspired Carlucci to embark on a career of coaching baseball.
Having been the head varsity coach at Rye Neck High School for over ten seasons, Carlucci led the team to four consecutive Section One Class B Championship games (2004-2007), including capturing the Section One Championship in 2005. As a result, Coach Carlucci was named Coach of the Year for three consecutive seasons (2004-2006).
In addition, Carlucci has coached numerous NCAA D-I players, including over a dozen with the Stamford Robins of the ACBL.  In 2014, one of his players, Ryan Pennell, was selected in the 22nd round of the MLB Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.
Playing Career:
Coach Carlucci starred on the basketball and baseball teams at Rye High School, helping lead the Garnets to the New York State Basketball Championship in 1989.  As an All-League selection on the Rye HS Baseball Team, Carluccci moved on to Springfield College where he earned a BS in Sports Management.
Teaching Background:
Coach Carlucci has been teaching physical education at Rye Neck High School since 2001.  His lessons reflect much of the same precision and expertise that he demonstrates on the baseball field: differentiation, effective mechanics/fundamentals, along with fun-filled competitions.  Carlucci earned a Masters In Physical education from Adelphi University 1999 and also holds a School District Administrator Certificate from the College of New Rochelle.
Personal:
Coach Carlucci resides in southern Westchester County.  He enjoys running, golf, cats, and playing in competitive men's softball tournaments.
