Welcome to the Rising Star Baseball Camp located in New Rochelle, NY. 
This New York based baseball camp draws athletes (ages 7-15)

from Long Island, Westchester County, the Bronx/Queens, and Connecticut.

While many campers for this baseball-day camp reside in Scarsdale, New Rochelle,

Larchmont, Pelham, Bronxville, and Mamaroneck, numerous players come from

all over the tri-state area. Several campers have come from other countries,

including Japan, Finland, Ireland, and Nigeria (Africa).  The camp is held at

Albert Leonard Middle School (click link for directions) in New Rochelle.

The camp is split into four separate age categories: Rookie Ball (ages 7-8), A Ball (age 9),

AA Ball (ages 10-12), and AAA Ball (ages 13-15). Among the various day camps in

Westchester County, the sophisticated baseball drills and activities are unique compared

to all other area camps. An excellent camper to coach ratio combined with instruction

from college coaches and players has helped the camp produce one professional player,

several current college baseball players and dozens of high school players.

 

On Wednesday, July 23 the Hudson Valley Renegades spent the morning at camp telling stories about pro baseball, signing autographs, and holding a Q & A session with campers. On Wednesday, August 13th all summer 2008 campers and their parents are invited to watch the Renegades play former camper Tommy Koehler and the Jamestown Jammers. Interested campers and parents should call the camp to register for the free game tickets!

 

Tom Koehler who attended the Rising Star Baseball Camp during summers 1999-2000 was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 18th Round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft. Coach Chris Lopez Signs Contract With Chillicothe Paints of Frontier League 

Coach Chris Lopez, who has worked at the Rising Star Baseball Camp for the past five years, signed a professional contract with the Chillicothe Paintsof the Frontier League.  Chris will be pitching for the Paints in Ohio this summer. Congratulations Coach Lopez!!!

 

Steve Gilman who coached at the Rising Star Baseball Camp during the summer of 2006 was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 2008 MLB Draft.  Congratulations Coach Gilman!
