Rated #1 Camp 'For Kids Who Love Baseball' - SSR SPORTS Welcome to the Rising Star Baseball Camp (New York Baseball Camp) located in New Rochelle, NY. This New York based baseball camp draws athletes (ages 7-15) from Long Island, Westchester County, the Bronx/Queens, and Connecticut. While many campers enrolled in this baseball camp reside in Scarsdale, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Pelham, Bronxville, and Mamaroneck, numerous players come from all over the tri-state area. Several campers have come from other countries, including Japan, Finland, Ireland, and Nigeria (Africa). The camp is held at Albert Leonard Middle School (click for directions) in New Rochelle. The baseball camp program is split into four separate age categories: Rookie Ball (ages 7-8), Single A Ball (ages 9-10), AA Ball (ages 11-12), and AAA Ball (ages 13-15). Among the various day camps in Westchester County, the sophisticated drills and activities are unique compared to all other area baseball camps in New York. An excellent camper to coach ratio combined with instruction from coaches with college and professional playing experience has helped the camp produce one active professional player, several current college baseball players, and dozens of high school players. 2012 Registration: Open to Ages 7-15

On August 1st, six campers won a prize to meet Alex Rodriguez  HOT RISING STAR NEWS !!! 2011 RS CAMP ATTENDS NY YANKEES & NY METS GAMES
 On Saturday, July 30th @ 7pm, 75 campers, coaches, and parents were provided tickets to watch the Yankees battle the Baltimore Orioles. Two campers were interviewed on the stadium jumbo screen for prizes and Yankee outfielder Andruw Jones gave one of our campers a game ball! On Tuesday, August 9th, 100 campers/parents were given tickets to visit CitiField and watch the Mets defeat the San Diego Padres.
2011 CAMP VISITS FROM ACTIVE PROFESSIONAL PLAYERS  During Summer Session II, Jeff Malm and Gerardo Olivares from the Tampa Bay Rays Organization put on a hitting demonstration at camp. As two of the leaders in batting average and home runs in minor league baseball, they put on an amazing offensive display, spoke with campers, and signed autographs. In the following weeks, the Rockland Boulders, "Boulder Bird" Mascot, and slugger Jeremy Slayden (Philadelphia Phillies Organization & Rockland Boulders) came to speak to us. Slayden smashed numerous mammoth home runs, discussed his hitting techniques/strategies, and signed over 100 autographs!
Coach Koehler Added to Florida Marlins' 40 Man MLB Roster!
Tom Koehler who attended the Rising Star Baseball Camp during summers 1999-2000 and was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 18th Round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft was added to the Marlins' 40-Man MLB Roster after finishing with a 12-7 record with the AAA New Orleans Zephyrs in 2011. Koehler was selected as the 2010 Southern League Double A Pitcher of the Year after being the starting pitcher in the Double A All-Star Game and finishing with a 16-2 overall record. Tom coached at the baseball camp for a couple of summers during college. Congratulations Tommy and keep throwing that 95 MPH heat! Below: RS Camper (1999), Stonybrook U. (2008), Florida Marlins (2009).  RS Camp Coach Matt Duran Hits .301 in Rookie Year With Yankees! Matt Duran who coached at the Rising Star Baseball Camp and attended New Rochelle HS was selected by the New York Yankees in the 4th Round of the 2011 MLB Draft. In just his second game as a professional player in the Florida Gulf Coast League versus the Toronto Blue Jays, Matt collected three hits, including a home run and four RBIs. By the end of August in his first season of pro ball at the Rookie Level, Coach Duran compiled a .301 batting average and amassed 17 RBI. Matt's tremendous work ethic and academic accomplishments are a model for all young players to emulate. Congratulations Matt and keep driving the baseball to all parts of the field with authority!
