In April of 2018, Coach Dasgupta signed a two-year contract with the Houston Astros as a baseball operations analyst. 
Coach Dasgupta played four years of varsity baseball at New Rochelle HS. He continued his baseball and academic careers at Skidmore College and served as a two-year captain.  At Skidmore, Coach Dasgupta was ranked in the top 15 in batting average (.310) and fielding percentage (.961) his junior year. 
After attending the Rising Star Baseball Camp for six consecutive summers, Coach Dasgupta was recognized with the prestigious Iron Horse Award.  At camp, he set various records, including a catcher pop-time of 2.06 seconds and seven home runs in a round of home run derby. Coach Dasgupta started coaching at Rising Star Baseball Camp in 2012 and specializes in catcher/infield skills. During summer 2017, Coach Dasgupta served as the Double A Field director.
He enjoys golfing, boating, and fine dining on his free time.
